I felt ridicolous shopping for 19 on Saturday. Three bags of mushrooms, 19 tomatoes, 1.5 kg sweet potatoes, candy. Coming home cooking for four hours straight, but our timing was great. The last dish was finished about 30 minutes after the guests arrived, perfect for a bit of pre-dinner mingling.

Everyone loved the food. They liked the fact that it was something different, especially the Sweet Potato Casserole which has a unique taste, not often found in food. Boyfriend thought it was too sweet though, and most people were shocked when I said that this was only half as sweet as it should be.

Not only did people like the food, but they seemed to have a good time as well. All my worries about cooking, about the amount of people, about throwing my first big party with dinner – now I know I can. And I know that the next one is a year away…
