Book Review – Twilight

Posted by: Helena on: January 5, 2008

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.

The author is a member of the same message board as me, that’s how I heard of this book; everyone there has read it. I’m not really a fan of fantasy, but I did an exception for this book, I had to see what all the fuzz was about.

I usually only read on the bus to and from work. When I started reading that first bus trip went by really fast and the book had me captivated; I wanted the bus trip to last longer. It’s a story that clings to you, really it’s a simple story but the complex characters brings in their own uniqueness into the story. The book is fascinating and I will definately check out the sequels; New Moon and Eclipse. There’s also a fourth book planned for this year and Ms. Meyer have stated that she works on Twilight from Edwards point of view. So there’s lots to read.

The target audience is young adults, I might be a bit too old for that, so might most people at my message board be, but we’ve all enjoyed it, that’s how good the book is. Sure, you have to have a connection with your inner teenager, and not be pretentious in your reading, but I really recommend if you like a love story with a twist.

PLOT: When Bella moves to her dad in Forks, WA, she doesn’t like it but soon finds some friends. The one she’s drawn to is the mysterious Edward, whose secret endangers her. He’s a vampire and even though he loves her, there’s a part of him and his family, who long, thirst for her blood.
