One day I will open my wardrobe and find a myriad of colourful clothing, well-fitting garments and endless possibilities to mix and match. This blog is about my journey to get there, one stitch at the time.
I live in the south of Sweden, where fabric shops are scarce, there’s a whole lot of wind, four distinct seasons and the clothing people wear stay on trend. Most of the time I feel like I’m dressed in a completely different style than everyone else, but I’m OK with that, my clothes are not the kind you would find at the high street store!
One of my challenges is to build a wardrobe with pieces for work and leisure, the office and play time, not necessarily the same pieces, but to keep balance. I prefer to sew woven fabrics over knits, I prefer fitted clothes over a looser silhouette and I prefer natural fibers over synthetics. I am learning how to fit my body, what fabrics I like and how they work, what colours look good on me, this is a journey.
This blog documents my sewing, mainly my new additions but also how I wear them (or not) in my everyday life. Success or fail, with every project I learn something to make my dream wardrobe even better. Join me on my journey towards my perfect wardrobe!
