Me-Made-May 2013 – The Next 4

Day 7

What’s today’s outfit?
Ma Belle-skirt and RTW t-shirt.

Where was it worn?
Chilling at home, doing glamourous chores such as laundry and wardrobe cleaning.

Outfit rating
Meh. I feel the skirt looks very homemade and t-shirts like these are boring, plus this is very old and worn out. I do need something loose for nursing and this t-shirt pulls up easiliy. Not a very good outfit, but OK for hanging at home with a baby.

Day 7 – bonus

The kiddo had played with water (organised play) at pre-school, so he came home in his spare clothes – including his Purple Wristlet Pants. The sunhat is RTW and the t-shirt is a hand-me-down. A purple kiddo, good thing purple is one of his favourite colours (as well as any other colour).

Day 8

What’s today’s outfit?
Unblogged plaid skirt, RTW stockings, nursing top and cardigan.

Where was it worn?
Visiting my grandparents with baby E

Outfit rating
OK. The skirt has an elastic waist which is totally comfortable. However I’m not sure about my fabric choice, I need to get picker (I will explore this in my MMM lessons learnt at the end of the month). Baby E didn’t care for it as she puked all over me and forced me to change clothes in the afternoon.

Day 9

What’s today’s outfit?
Heavenly nursing dress

Where was it worn?
A day at the horse race tracks. The dresscode is neither Ascot or Kentucky Derby. I was a photo finish from winning 300 SEK on my 10 SEK bet. Darn!

Outfit rating
This dress is comfortable, it is a jersey dress after all, and the nursing feature works perfectly for discrete nursing. I must blog about this creation soon, since I really like it (I need photographs). This will be worn a lot this summer!

Me-Made-May days 18 to 21

Day 18:

What’s me-made in today’s outfit?
Michelle, Ma Belle-skirt
Where was it worn?
Day at home with baking, making lemonade, doing yard work and having guests for coffee.
How often is it worn and why?
It’s a great casual skirt that probably doesn’t get as many wears as it deserves due to my lack of tops. I must make/find more tops that go with the stuff I have.

Day 19:

What’s me-made in today’s outfit?
October top and “I don’t know”-top
Where was it worn?
A trip to the hardware store to buy a birthday gift for my sister and then grocery shopping.
How often is it worn and why?
The top is really exactly what I need, so perhaps I should make myself some more jersey tops. The shrug is not a perfect make, but it helped reduced the “naked feelig” I get from the top. So the top deserves more wear, the shrug is only ever worn for MM/SS challenges.

Day 20 – morning

What’s me-made in today’s outfit?
National Day shorts
Where was it worn?
As can be deduced from the photo: gardening.
How often is it worn and why?
The shorts gets a lot of wear around the house, but they rarely leave our grounds (well, perhaps for walks in the forest).

Day 20 – afternoon

What’s me-made in today’s outfit?
Unblogged blue dress
Where was it worn?
To my sister’s birthday party
How often is it worn and why?
Not a lot. In reality this dress should be a little too big, right now it fits me well. If I get any smaller (which I hopefully will) the dress would, again, be too big, and I don’t really know how to take it in.

Day 21

What’s me-made in today’s outfit?
The Orangery Skirt and the Indian shirt.
Where was it worn?
Work and spontaneous fabric shopping
How often is it worn and why?
I love the colour and shape of the skirt, but it’s a bit hard to match and therefore it doesn’t get a lot of wear. The shirt gets a bit more and I’m really proud of it since it was my first successful pattern alteration.

Me-Made-June continues

Five days into me-made-June and here’s what I wore for days 2, 3, 4 and 5.

June 2

We spent the day at the race tracks (nope, no wins for me) and I wore my Celeste dress (never blogged). The fabric is light blue with white polka dots, so I wore it with white shoes and a bow in my hair and felt very put together.

June 3

The day was spent at home cleaning and baking in preparations of my son’s first birthday. I wore an H&M tank and my Lovely in Lavender shorts. Oh, and it was decided in the MMJ Flickr group that we should spin in our photos today. I am spinning, it’s just that a pair of shorts don’t give you a good effect by it.

June 4 – a.k.a. My son’s birthday

For the birthday party I wore my Floral and Coral dress. I paired it with a belt from DressBarn (originally paired with a shirt).

June 5

With incredibly hot weather here I’m dressing very casual and tourist-y. After some day-after cleaning we took a walk in the nearby forest; I wore my Ma Belle-skirt, an H&M tank, a C&A sunhat and Mizuno running shoes.

Michelle, Ma Belle

So my two sewing weekends are over for this time, now it’s two weekends away, and then no plans again, so maybe even more then.

The first garment to be finished, I rushed it on Saturday so I could wear it downtown when shopping (sewing supplies among other things). The Michelle skirt.

I really liked the fabric, it felt very springlike and the texture made for the perfect silhouette for this skirt. However, despite fitting, it turned out a bit big in the waist, so I think I’ll take it in a bit the next time I bring out my machine, the point of making your own clothes is to get clothes that fit you. Which made it more annoying since I thought it fit when I tried it on before putting on the interfacing. Ah, well, it’s not a major procedure, it’s just annoying, especially since I know I only have myself to blame.

Project Summary
